Electric Ranges and Stoves have been manufactured for over 60 years. They have gradually evolved from models with wire wound elements and very simple control devices to the ranges of today which have self cleaning ovens and surface units which cook by induction. Ranges are generally classified as Free Standing, Drop In, Built in Counter Top and Built in Oven.
The power source will be 240 V (Volt) / 208 volt, 60 Hz. double fuses or breakers in panel 40 A (amp.) Range receptacle: The voltage between (triangular hole) red ( L1 ) and (triangular hole) black ( L2 ) is approximately 240 volts AC input (alternating current voltage) The voltage between L1 red hot or live wire and neutral (white wire) is 120 volts. The voltage between L2 black hot or live wire and neutral (white wire) is 120 volts. The voltage between L1 and (round hole) ground (grin or bare wire) is 120 volts. The voltage between L1 red and (round hole) ground (grin or bare wire) is 120 volts. The voltage between L2 black and (round hole) ground (grin or bare wire) is 120 volts. Ground pin on receptacle must be on Left or Right side, Not On Top or Bottom. Caution to replace the fuses located in-one the appliance. When replacing fuses, refer to the Fuse Amperage Chart located on the fuse cover, or near the fuses. Fuses should be tightened.
